Swedavia’s Traffic Statistics for June 2026: Continued Growth in International Travel – Domestic Travel Impacted by Reduced Capacity
2026-07-03, kl. 09:08
Demand for international travel continued to grow at Swedavia’s ten airports during June. At the same time, domestic travel declined due primarily to reduced capacity, with the exception of Visby Airport, where both capacity and demand strengthened. In total, just over 3.2 million passengers travelled through the airports during the month, representing an increase of 0.5 percent compared with June 2025. International travel increased by almost 3 percent overall, while domestic travel decreased by 8 percent.
As in May, the trend in June was primarily driven by continued growth in international travel. Demand for air travel continues to be influenced by the uncertain global situation, not least developments in the Middle East, while higher fuel prices are also contributing to a moderation in the pace of growth. Overall, the trend indicates that international travel continues to increase, but at a slower rate than previously
Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden’s largest airport, recorded just over 2.3 million passengers in June. Total passenger traffic was on par with the corresponding month in 2025. International travel increased by nearly 2 percent to just over 2 million passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 12 percent to just over 314,000 passengers.
Göteborg Landvetter Airport recorded more than 560,000 passengers during June, representing an increase of 3 percent compared with the same month last year. International travel increased by 4 percent to more than 525,000 passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 17 percent to nearly 38,000 passengers.
Among Swedavia’s other eight airports, Visby Airport and Malmö Airport reported positive overall growth. Visby Airport increased by 16 percent, driven by expanded capacity and stronger demand. At Malmö Airport, international traffic increased as a result of improved capacity and higher demand, while domestic traffic was constrained by reduced capacity.
Bromma Stockholm Airport recorded just under 13,000 passengers in June, corresponding to 6 percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
