About Swedavia Real Estate
Swedavia has two operating segments – Airport Operations and Real Estate. In Airport Operations, Swedavia owns, operates and develops our ten airports. In Real Estate, Swedavia owns and develops buildings and land adjacent to our airports.
Real Estate is a fast-growing operating segment at Swedavia that has major development projects under way, primarily at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Göteborg Landvetter Airport, where new hotels, office buildings and logistics areas are now taking shape. Real Estate operations are expanding as globalisation continues and airports become increasingly important hubs for meetings.
Swedavia’s strategy is to develop properties, often together with different partners, and then sell them when they are completed. Profits are invested in core operations and contribute to the development of Swedavia’s airports.
Swedavia works in close collaboration with strategic partners that have specific skills which complement the company’s own operations. One example is Alecta, which jointly owns Swedish Airport Infrastructure with Swedavia. The joint venture manages properties around Swedavia’s airports. In order to develop Airport City Stockholm, Swedavia has a partnership with Arlandastad Holding and the Municipality of Sigtuna. At Göteborg Landvetter Airport, the property developer Bockasjö has been a key partner in a joint venture formed to develop the first phase of a logistics centre located immediately adjacent to the airport.
